Spit Take I:The Sin Bin.

Spit Take is a print magazine created by and for the FLINTA+ community.

We are always excited to feature new work from personal essays, reviews, photography, fiction, poetry, maybe a little smut, collages, questions, advice… You name it, we want to see it!

We are now welcoming pitches for our very first issue: The Sin Bin.

The name of our magazine is an ode to mock shock, to pearl clutching, to the inherent campness of an exaggerated reaction to the naughty, the unbelievable, the juicy.

It feels only right, then, to centre our first issue around taboo, misbehaviour, and who is/is not allowed to play.

The Sin Bin is the cooling-off zone designated for sports players who have been deemed to be misbehaving by the referee. Ironically the idea for this magazine came from two-thirds of our editorial staff being thrown in Meta jail for No! Good! Reason! - although we certainly have our suspicions.

Personal Ads

Have you got a side hustle as a painter you’d like to flaunt?
Got an etsy for bedazzled carabiners that isn’t getting enough promo? Looking for a job? A house? Someone to watch your pet bird while you’re away?

Here’s the spot for some shameless self-promotion

What’s On Your Mind, Pet?

Our agony aunt Rita Lynne is here to answer your every worry, question, concern, and even respond to your dirty little secrets.

Don’t know how to tell your roommate that their cat is bullying you? Dating your friend’s ex’s ex-football coach’s best friend’s ex and not sure how to handle birthdays anymore? Want to ask genuine advice about general life stuff? You name it, she’s ruminated it.

Let me tell you what I like

If you have ever had to delete “girls kissing” or “how to have queer sex?” from the family computer, this one is for you.

For lack of a better sexual education, we’re gathering personal takes on what gets you hot under the collar, what you like to give (if at all) & what you like to receive (if at all).

Nothing is too wild or too tame. The idea is to create a mosaic showing that there are hundreds of ways to be intimate.
