We are now welcoming pitches for our very first issue themed: The Sin Bin.
Spit Take is created by and for the community. We are always looking to feature new work from more voices and artists of all kind. Essays, photo series, fiction, poetry, maybe a little smut, collages, questions, advice… You name it, we want to read it!
We are now welcoming pitches for our very first issue themed The Sin Bin.
The name of our magazine is an ode to mock shock. To pearl clutching. To the campness of an exaggerated reaction to the naughty, the unbelievable, the juicy.
It feels only right, then, to centre our first issue around taboo, misbehaviour, and who is/is not allowed to play. Think words we’ve refound, words we’re still looking for.
The Sin Bin is the cooling-off zone designated for sports players who have been deemed to be misbehaving by the referee. Ironically the idea for this magazine came from two-thirds of our editorial staff being thrown in the Meta Sin Bin for No! Good! Reason! (Although we have our suspicions that I t might have been due to our being queer and our endorsement of sex work, in which case, guilty as charged!)
Take it off(line) baby

S. E. X. Three letters, lots of weight. Did anyone have a sexual education that wasn’t limited with a capital L and as a result it’s been a trial of errors to find out what I like (to receive and to give). We wanted to create an completely anonymous page which showcased the diversity of queer sex and desire, if you’re open to it, write in!
Agony aunt
No magazine is complete without an agony aunt page. Doling out sage advice is Rita Lynne our constantly awake, constantly overthinking agony aunt. You name it, she’s ruminated it. Write in with a vague description of yourself, age location etc and tell us whats on your mind.
